Breaking The Silence: PBS Utah & IMPACT Magazine Join Forces For Unmuted: Mind. Body. IMPACT. Town Hall for Collective Healing

For generations, conversations about health,  especially women’s health, have been tucked away in the shadows. Menopause, mental health, and the complex changes of the body have too often been met with silence, leaving individuals to navigate these life stages alone. This November, that silence will be broken.

On Saturday, November 18, at 6:00 PM, PBS Utah and IMPACT Magazine will present Unmuted: Mind. Body. IMPACT. at Edison House in Salt Lake City. The evening will unfold as part documentary screening, part panel discussion, and part community dialogue, all woven together to create a collective space for truth-telling and healing.

The program begins with a special 10-minute screening of The M Factor: Shredding the Silence on Menopause, a film that confronts one of the most under-discussed health transitions in women’s lives. Raw, honest, and beautifully told, the documentary opens the door for conversations that will continue throughout the night.

“PBS Utah is honored to partner with IMPACT Magazine to bring our community together around a conversation that affects so many but is too often left in the shadows,” says Laura Durham, PBS Utah’s Director of Programming & Community Engagement. “The M Factor: Shredding the Silence on Menopause is a beautiful documentary that will set the stage for an important conversation with our guests. Both PBS Utah and IMPACT Magazine deeply believe when stories are shared openly, communities grow stronger.”

Following the film, the audience will hear from leading doctors, practitioners, and thought leaders in a series of discussions that blend expertise with lived experience.

• The Body Speaks: Dr. Erica Baiden will address the physical side of health, from hormones and skin to weight management, sexual health, and aging.

• Unmuted Truths: A fireside chat with Dr. William A. Smith and IMPACT Magazine’s Tunisha Brown, will dive into the behavioral and mental health struggles that accompany menopause, including stress, anxiety, and depression.

• Thriving Beyond Stress: Robin Huling, of Warner Communications, will explore strategies for whole-person wellness, bringing in voices from public health, wellness, and technology.

The intention is clear: by breaking silence and unmuting the stories that matter, the town hall gives attendees not only knowledge, but also tools they can carry into their daily lives.

Whether in the room at Edison House or tuning in via IMPACT Magazine or PBS Utah’s live social media stream, participants will be part of something larger, a moment of connection, vulnerability, and empowerment that promises to ripple outward into families and communities.

Seats for Unmuted: Mind. Body. IMPACT. are limited. RSVP today to reserve your place and be part of the conversation that refuses to stay silent.
