Love often finds us when we least expect it. It can emerge from the most surprising places, forging connections between people whose paths might have never crossed under ordinary circumstances. Such is the nature of love—it has a way of sneaking up on us, turning chance encounters into life-changing relationships.
For Morgan and Evan, their love story began not in the warmth of easy times, but in the midst of profound loss. Each had faced the heartache of losing someone dear, and while their lives were clouded by grief, they didn’t let the darkness define them. Instead, they allowed the light within them to shine, drawing them toward each other in ways they could have never predicted.

What started as a casual meeting soon blossomed into something beautiful. They discovered in one another a shared strength, a joy in life’s simple pleasures, and a mutual understanding that transcended words. Their bond grew not out of a need to fill the emptiness left by their losses, but from the light they brought into each other’s lives.
Their love is a reminder that even in the most difficult times, there is still room for joy, connection, and growth. It’s a story that speaks to the resilience of the human spirit and the transformative power of love. They didn’t find love in the darkness; they found it in the light they chose to carry forward, together.
As they look to their future, they do so with a commitment to continue dreaming, growing, and loving. Their journey is a testament to the fact that love can thrive in even the most unexpected places, turning moments of pain into a foundation for a lifetime of happiness.

Love in the Light: How Two Hearts Found Their Way Through Loss to Joy
Morgan Williams and Evan Brown’s love story is one that began in the wake of profound loss but blossomed into something extraordinary. In 2021, both faced heart-wrenching tragedies: Evan lost his mother, Jennifer, in February, and Morgan’s twin brother, Cameron, passed away in June. Just a few months later, on September 11, 2021, their paths crossed on a rooftop in Chicago. What began as a casual encounter quickly grew into something neither of them expected.
Their connection was immediate, though not in a conventional way. It wasn’t about filling a void or finding comfort in shared grief, but rather discovering a light in one another that they hadn’t anticipated. They started dating casually, bonding over simple joys. Their time together was filled with laughter and adventure, including trips that allowed them to explore each other.

As their relationship deepened, it became clear that they were more than just companions—they were each other’s beacon. Despite the shadows cast by their recent losses, Morgan and Evan emphasize that their love didn’t grow out of the darkness; it flourished because of the light they found within one another. They were a source of joy, hope, and new beginnings for each other.
Their bond deepened when, in June 2022, Morgan was accepted into the Master of Business Creation program at the University of Utah. Faced with the prospect of moving across the country, Evan didn’t hesitate to join her, turning what could have been a challenge into a new adventure for them both. Together, they supported each other’s dreams—Morgan’s journey with Blendyd, marked by NBA Pitches and accolades such as 30 Women to Watch and the ICON Award, and Evan’s expansion of his business, Vizual Media, alongside his non-profit Meet & Teach, which earned recognition like the Men of IMPACT Award and the Black Chamber Business of Excellence Award.

Their story reached another beautiful milestone on October 14, when Evan proposed to Morgan during what was meant to be his surprise birthday party. In that moment, the surprise was all hers—a fitting end to a day meant to celebrate him, which instead marked the beginning of their forever together.
As they prepare for their next chapter, Morgan and Evan are dedicated to continuing to dream, grow, and create together, all while honoring the legacies of those they’ve lost.
