Shamanda Burston Puts A Face To The Wounded Healer

As May was Mental Health Awareness Month, Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist and Professional Counselor Shamanda Burston announced her debut book titled Wounded Healer, published by 13th & Joan, and the launch of her new website. Shamanda is no stranger to mental health and the importance it holds all year and not just during the month of May.

Wounded Healer puts a face to the notion that one can overcome poverty, neglect, and abuse, yet become successful and emotionally healthy.

Wounded Healer tells a story of a young girl transitioning into adulthood after years of trauma and other issues such as: childhood illness, teenage parenting, domestic violence, and single parenting. The author, Shamanda,  shares the story through the lens of a wounded healer and a therapist who has experienced life challenges that parallel those of her clients. Wounded Healer puts a face to the notion that one can overcome poverty, neglect, and abuse, yet become successful and emotionally healthy. With all that she has worked so hard to accomplish, Shamanda is excited to share with the world her new book, website, success during Mental Health Awareness Month and beyond. Wounded Healer released on June 20, 2019.
